Nursing-care Insurance System

Municipal governments operate the system. To receive Nursing-Care please apply to the municipal office to obtain a certification of long-term care need from the committee for certification of need. For details of the application procedure and contents of the program, please contact the municipal office.

Persons covered by the Nursing-care Insurance Law (Insured)

• First Insured Person: Members and dependents 65 years or older
• Second Insured Person: Members and dependents 40 years or older and under 65 years .

Payment of premiums

• First Insured Person: You must request the municipality of your residence to deduct from the pension, or pay directly to the municipality.
• Second Insured Person: You must arrange deduction from salary and bonus together with the short-term premium (For voluntarily continued insurance members, it will be collected with the short-term premium.).
